| Since
it was established at the feet of Hrušica ridge, more precisely
in Kalce near Logatec , Ad Pirum - the institute for intellectual
activities, has taken it’s name after the ridge’s Latin name.
This name was not chosen by chance. Members of
the Institute, all admirers and defenders of the cultural heritage
are well acquainted with it through the studies of the late-antique
defensive zone called Claustra Alpium Iuliarum, with it’s key defensive
walls in the hills around Logatec and it’s headquarters on the very
ridge of Hrušica. Sure enough the choice of the name was encouraged
by dr. Marko Frelih, archeologist and renown explorer of the topic.
Ad Pirum was established in 2004 with the aim of
unite experts from different fields who all have in common special,
subtle attitude towards cultural heritage, posses specific knowledge
and skills and nurture friendly approach towards fellow humans and
Mother Nature. We try to carry on this mission through research
and pilot projects as well as commercial commissions.
In fullfilling our mission we seek help and synergetic
effects inworking together with various expert subjects. For this
reason we cooperate on regular basis with Faculty of Architecture,
TheInstitute for the Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Slovenia,
Institute for Conservation and Restoration, Ljubljana Architecture
Museum and others.
We feel especially
honoured by projects which have otherwise been recognised as useless
and hopeless by official policies and »established« professional
community. We are undertaking such projects with the greatest possible
enthusiasm.
